SESAME
Awarded #1 'Best of Expo', Sesame is a revolutionary smart home technology designed to lead the next generation of home automation. To gain mechatronic experience, I performed the project's mechanical, electrical, and computer science design. I gained immense experience with SolidWorks, C++, Arduino controls, sensor/motor selection, soldering, bench testing, and more. Unfortunately, due to ongoing patent developments, most of the project’s design is redacted from this section; however, please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Fun Facts:
I led a team of 3 engineers to develop the first version of Sesame which competed in the University of Cincinnati’s ‘Innovation Challenge’
Sesame is two systems that work in conjunction with each other to perform the task at hand
Fun Facts:
Initially denied as an applicable project for senior design and turned down by 6 engineers as possible teammates, Sesame was extremely misunderstood until the 2024 engineering EXPO.
Determined to prove the vision behind Sesame, over 4 months, I slept in the university lab 5 nights and worked over sixty 18 to 20 hour shifts to complete the first working prototype.
Fun Facts:
3 different 3D-printing materials were tested throughout the development phase
Due to rapid printing, testing, breaking, and reiterating techniques, Sesame has spent almost 1000 hours on my domestic 3D printer.
